Remember in my previous post I was talking about starting this 8 week slimdown program I found on bodybuilding.com. Well, I officially started it on Sunday 7/6/08!! I was just so excited to get started because I had a bit of fun eating on the 4th of July. Burgers, hotdogs, and I will not name any more. Saturday evening I ventured out to the grocery store and picked up my goods for this week. I am not kidding. Check out my stash below:
My list of goods consisted of:
- turkey bacon
- turkey deli meat
- chicken breast
- tuna
- steak
- salmon
- Almonds
- eggs & egg whites
- salad
- low fat mayo
- low fat yogurt
- non fat cottage cheese
- instead of cream of rice I did instant grits
- fruits, veggies
- low fat dressing
- natural peanut butter
- diet soda
- green tea
Phew!! Long list. So far I have been working this plan and I am seeing results already like 3lbs!! My exercise plan for myself so far is:
- 20-30 minute walk/jog in the morning or elliptical
- afternoon either cardio (interval training) or weight training the upper or lower body on alternate days.
I have to say the food is not bad at all and I now I will be able to make it through the eight weeks and then on to maintaining. I just finished my last workout today which was my lower body (leg extensions, hamstring curls, dead lift, lunges, and abs! So i am happy! I swear I am ready to get down so that I can model my skinny jeans and be ready for our trip to Disney World in September!! Well, I am out for the evening.
Chat later-

Wow Natasha..that is a lot of great info! I just discovered your blog and am now following your progress and you have so much fun stuff on here! I know you had egg whites on your list…but I would have to add eggology scrambles…they are egg whites in a microwavable container-you shake them up and microwave for 95 seconds and they are ready to go! Super quick and doesn’t give me an excuse like “the chips were so much easier to grab than something healthy!”-high protein and low calories! Oh yeah, and did I mention YUMMY!
Hi Katy,
Thanks for the idea with the eggs. I just got back from vacation and need to start this program again, so that I am ready for the holidays.
