Happy New Year!: What I Am I Up To?

Happy New Year!: What I Am I Up To?

happy_new_year_10Happy New Year everyone!! I hope that you all had a great time bringing it in. I certainly did. My father in law decided to ring in the New Year with our son, so that meant that DH and I rang the New Year in as a couple. I was so much fun!! We stayed up until 2:00a.m.!! Don’t laugh. I don’t remember that last time we have done that and to top that off we slept in until 10:00am. It was so nice!

So, with all of the New Year celebrating and Christmas eating where am I now? Honestly I gained back the 6lbs I lost. I found this out after weighing myself after Christmas day. So DH and I started out New Years day exercising and eating healthy and now I am proud to say that I have 2 more pound to go! With that  I will be back to my pre-Christmas weight of 178lbs!! Yeay!!

Now DH and I made our New Years resolutions and one of them is to get back to our goal weights by March 1st. So it is on!! I am excited too. 160 here I come!!! We both took our before pics and I will post them one March 1st, so that you all can see the before and afters.

Many are asking what are you eating? Well, I like to cook, so I am preparing meals for the two of us that are similar to Nutrisystem’s guidelines, low glycemic, low carbs and such. Then we are also working out together. That’s mean weight training to build muscle in order to burn more fat and cardio!!

Today I will be doing step aerobics for 30 minutes and when DH gets home from work I will be doing some weight training. He always have a great circuit to go by. Well, I will be going for now. I got to take down the Christmas tree and workout before my little one comes home from school.

Have a great day!!!

Personal Progress: Weight Loss? Zero This Week

Personal Progress: Weight Loss? Zero This Week

Hey All I just had to pop in real quick before I head out and run some more pre-holiday errands. Just think Christmas is almost here! How are you all going to be celebrating? I know tomorrow my family will be heading to the trail of lights in Austin and our son is soooooooooo excited!! Then our son will be having a Christmas party at school on Friday. Next week we will be decorating cookies and making a gingerbread house and finalizing Christmas.

My weight? Well, let’s just say it is still at 178 this week and I expected that to happened with the holiday festivities going on. So this week’s goal is to maintain that number well into the new year. I will continue to exercise as plan and on days that I don’t have any parties to go to I will eat on plan too.

Well, I better run and complete my errands before DH and my son get home from work.

Happy Holidays,

P.S. I just had to share this pic of our son with Santa!! I love Christmas time!!

Personal Progress: 180!! Down 2 More Pounds!!

Hey all!! I hope that you all had a great thanksgiving without over indulging. Remember, that was my goal? Well, I am so proud of myself because I accomplished that goal. Hey, I have to say on thanksgiving day I even worked out on the elliptical for 30 minutes. Now that is a first time ever in my life I have ever exercise on Thanksgiving day!! So, I know I must have been determined or what?

As a result of this, I ended up working out 5 days last week and lost 2lbs!! Now I am 180lbs on the nose and I can’t wait until next week to see the 170′s again and I will embrace it so hard. Then I will work my way back to the 160′s with so much passion and not take it for granted. I hate this excess weight. Why? I feel slow, my clothes are tights, and I don’t feel as confident. So, ready or not 160 here I come, again. hee hee.

Today, my son is back in school. He could not wait to go back since he is feeling much better. He has been battling allergies and still hanging on to this dry cough, so he will be visiting his doctor tomorrow to see what’s up! I don’t like it when my baby is sick. Don’t you feel that way about your kiddos?

Well, I better get to my cardio so that I can continue my weight loss streak for next week’s weigh in.

until next time,

Personal Progress: Down 2lbs This Week!

Hey all, what a week last week trying to get back into weight loss mode and eating healthy again. I had some struggles like trying not to eat late at night. Man! It was had, because I was getting hungry so fast because my body was used to eating whatever it wanted whenever. So, the hungry was expected. Other than that the exercise surprisingly was fun to do again too!

So, what are my results from my hard work? Well, I am down -2lbs this week!! Yeah! I am happy with that and can’t wait to see more loss next week too. I am really going to discipline my eating over thanksgiving. I will enjoy, but at moderation. Here what I have ingrained in my head for thanksgiving:

  • I will drink all 64oz of water to avoid over eating
  • I will eat my 5 meals that day to avoid eating too much at thanksgiving dinner
  • I will have dessert, but make a choice and eat smaller portions. This way I will feel like I am not depriving myself
  • I will workout the morning of thanksgiving while my turkey is roasting way in the oven.
  • I will go for a post thanksgiving walk after dinner to burn off extra calories too.

I feel that by setting these goals in my mind a head of time I will not fail myself and have a successful weigh in next week Monday. What are you going to do? Have you thought about your thanksgiving day strategy if you are currently try to loose weight? You should so that you will not sabotage you awesome successes.

Anyway, I am out for now. My son is off from school for thanksgiving break and he wants to play Jedi’s and I need to hop my butt on the elliptical fast!!

Chat later,

Doing Well!

Well, I am at home from work today. I had to take time off because my son woke up sick with a fever and diarrhea plus post allergies systems too. Yuck. This boy is explosive today, that’s all I can say. But I will be mommy and make sure he get better. While at home I managed to take him to the grocery store and did all of my shopping and thanksgiving shopping too, so I am happy about that!! I should only have to go to the store and get produce and that’s it!! I Hate waiting to the last minute to do my thanksgiving shopping. Why? Well everyone is shopping for once and then the store seems to be out of stock of the essentials I need to prepare my meal.

I have to say this week has been challenging, but I am proud of my self for committing to 4 day of cardio and weight training for this week. I also watched my calories, and drink 64 oz of water each day thus far. It takes a lot to get the mind ready to reach the weight loss goal in mind, but when I am ready there is not stopping me. So, I am excited. I hope on the scale and I am already seeing good numbers, but I will reserve that until I weigh in on Monday.

My goal for the rest of the week is to keep my calorie intake steady, so that I don’t slip up and gain over the weekend. I will accomplish this by planning my meals daily.

Today’s Menu:

  1. Breakfast: protein bar and banana: 250
  2. Lunch: Weight watchers lemon chicken w/ rice 230+ salad: 280
  3. Snack: Yogurt 160+ blackberries: 200
  4. Dinner: Chicken Breast, green beans, salad: 275
  5. Dessert: Weight watcher ice cream: 170

total: 1180 calories (a little short, so I will added on fat free whipped cream!!)

exercise: Off for the weekend unless the family decides to go for a walk in the neighborhood. Otherwise, the workouts resume on Sunday night!

Have a great day :)

Back To The Healthy Life For Me

Back To The Healthy Life For Me

Hey all, it has been another hot minute since I have chatted with you all, huh? I am enjoying life way too much but that’s not so bad right? My mom, was here visiting from Wisconsin last week. I haven’t seen here in over a year, so I was soooooo excited to see her. We celebrated our son’s 5th birthday on Saturday at chuck e cheese which was a blast. My son loves Star wars and he racked up on the light sabers and star wars toys.

Then this past Sunday my mom and I had a wonderful mother daughter day shopping at the outlets. We had such a great time shopping, but when it came time to try on clothes all I can say is YIKES!! It funny through my mom and I are the same size which means we both gained the same amount of weight except for God has blessed her with the breasts and gave me all the booty, lol. Now, I still weight 180 which puts me from a size 8 to a 10/12. So lets just say I did not buy a lot of clothes because I did not want to get used to being in a 12.

So, now I will punish myself and wear my tight 10′s for now. Why? because it gives me a daily reminder to make smarter choices with eating the right portion of foods, exercise, drinking lots of water, and learning again to eat only when hungry and not snacking. I can do this and I will and I now how. With that said here is my outline for today:

meals:

  1. Breakfast: 1 turkey sausage- 120 cals, 2 poached eggs- 160 cals, and 1 serving of blueberries 60 cals total: 340 cals
  2. Lunch: Protein shake 200 cals & 1/2 banana 60 cals: total 260
  3. Snack: String cheese: 60 cals & grapes 70 cals: 130 cals
  4. Dinner: weight watcher’s chicken oriental 230 cals, salad 50 cals, and asparagus 26: total: 306
  5. Dessert: South Beach chocolate pudding 100 cals banana 60 (1/2)

total cals: 1196

Water: goal 64 oz

Exercise: 30 minutes of Jillian Michaels DVD and 20 minutes of the elliptical

Well, I am off to conquer my list of things before my son gets home from school. Until next time have a safe and healthy day!

Hi all, I can not believe how time flies. I Just Love My DVR!!

Did you all have a great Labor day? I did and then my Birthday was yesterday and I had a blast!! I ate very sensibly and later in the evening my family and I headed off to the Main event where we bowled for the first time with our son! Our little guy had a great time learning how to bowl. It was so nice to see. My bowling sucks for one thing and to make things worse my little 4 year-old almost defeated me. No laughing out there!

Well, today I am so in love with my DVR. You know how sometimes you get so board with the same workout DVD’s? Then in the long run causes you not to exercise to the fullest due to that boredum? Well, last night I came to this new way of thinking. I thought. . . I record some of my favorite shows like Project Runway and so on, Well. . . . why not record some new workouts that comes on Fit TV? Duh!!! So I did and worked out to Sharon Mann this afternoon while my son finger painted and it was so nice! Nice to do something different and not be able to anticipate the next moves. I was sweating like a dog and I feel GREAT!!

Before I go I wanted to apologize for now giving you all my motivational Mondays post, fabulously fit Fridays, and other health related post lately. I have been in a mental rut myself and I needed the time to figure things out for my own weight battle these past few months. But not to worry, the post will return in full effect starting next week!! So stay tuned. . .

I have not hopped on the scale to see if I see any improvement from last week’s 179, but we will see on Monday morning what the verdict is. Well I better go for now. I have to get ready for work tonight in the land of retail. Chat later!!

Cardio? Did I Really Do It!!

I can not believe it has been 7 days till my last post. You better believe I have not been up to my best behavior and that explains why the scale peaked up to 179 this week. EKKK!! So in horror of returning back to the big and unhealthy me I started to eat a bit better and today I actually got back to my cardio routine!!! I am not kidding! I did 40 minutes of Billy Blanks Fat blasting cardio w/o the billy bands. Why? I am soooo out of shape. I tired the first 15 minutes with them and I was huffing and puffing, so I took them off and continued to exercise!! Yey!!

I am so glad that I did exercise in order to back my routine of laziness creeping in. I was going to sit on the couch and watch a soap opera while my son sleeps, but instead I decided to take that time and use it wisely. I am so proud of myself!! My eats have been good to today.

Meals:

  1. yogurt, banana, eggs
  2. chicken salad with fruit
  3. apple and string cheese
  4. dinner will be chicken with broccoli

Not too bad considering I took my son for his weekly fun meal to Mc Donalds and I did not order a darn thing!! YES!!! Well, I just had to post what was going on, now I have to get ready to retail hell for a few hours. I hope that you all are doing well and I will chat later.
