What a nice day today even though I had to work this evening. What did you do with your day? I hope something fun or relaxing.

Guess what? Yesterday I came home from work and my Tae bo amped arrived!! So, when I got home from work today and changed clothes and gave my little one a kiss before night, night. I worked out to the Full throttle DVD in my 5 DVD workout series that came in the kit. Man! I did the first 30 minutes. Now, the DVD is a full 55 minute, and I was sweating like a pig! I was a great workout with cardio and strength training in one. This workout had my arms burnin’ and my legs too! The amped bar was a little quirky to figure out, but I am not complaining it wasn’t that expensive to begin with. I like the music to the workout and it was fun. I will definitely do the entire workout for my cardio on Tuesday! Well, I better run, sorry so short, but I am sleepy and I have a lot to do tomorrow before going to work. Arman has a playdate with a friend and then I need to cook dinner for my guys before heading into work at 1:00pm.

Good night!

Happy Friday!!!

I just had to share this wonderful clip from youtube with a fitness tip from my favorite fitness expert Melissa Hall. This clip she shows workout moves that workout multiple body parts at one time to save you time during your busy schedules this holiday season. If I can workout and save time I am a happy camper. The other thing I like about this clip is that she show that darn belt by Slendertone! I swear I want one so bad, but $179.00!!! Is there anyone out there that owns one? Is is worth the investment? Please let me know, because if it is I will mostly buy one after I get my eliptical and barbells, lol.

Enjoy and stay fit!

You know I browse the web for as many fit tips I can find to improve myself and help others too, right? Well, I know many people want nice abs, heck I do, but many complain that when they work that area out traditionally with crunches they say they experience neck pains and such. Well check out this clip by Doug Jones and tell me watch you think? Did this help? or was this something you already know.

Enjoy-

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket I just had to post this photo of Alicia Denson. She is a TV host and fitness model that I feel has awesome abs! Wouldn’t you agree? I want those abs and I placed a photo of her courtesy of Oxygen.com as inspiration. Today is the day I do cardio and 10-15 minutes of ab work. For my ab routine I will workout to exercise on demand and try Great Abs by Tony Horton. I tried it before and he really worked out all of the areas of the abdomen and the next day I was sore which is good. Then later today i will complete my step aerobics. I have to say this eating clean is tough, but great at the same time. The great thing I notice is that my scale dropped 1.5 pounds today, so I am excited about keeping this up because I am losing fat and building muscle too!! Well, I better get my workout in while my son and I practice quiet time together. He goes and play quietly while mommy get some housework done or exercise and at the end of the time we play, read stories, and he is off to naptime (I doubt that though).

Chat later :)

I am so glad that I am off from work today. I slept in a little later than normal which I truly needed it. My son hopped into bed my bed this morning and slept with me until 8:30am. I loved it!!! We got up showered ate our healthy breakfast together. I had:

  1. old fashioned oat meal
  2. grapes
  3. 4oz of turkey breast

Yummy!! Then we played around the house and on the web for a while, then we were outside playing soccer together, tag, and drawing our bodies on the patio. To top that off we played with play dough too. After all of that fun we had lunch which was tuna on whole wheat and a banana. I added some chips to my sons lunch and I did not even take a bit! Unreal for me. Finally after that I got him down for his nap and here I am. In a bit I am going to workout my lower body. On the bowflex I will:

  1. 3 set of 15 leg extensions (100lbs) I could do more, we’ll see.
  2. 3 sets of 15 leg curls 80lbs
  3. Then I will do the workout I mentioned before that I found in my Oxygen Mag.

I addition to that above I found another workout in that I found on shape.com it seemed pretty neat. It’s a rear cable lunge. I know I sound obsessive about the butt area, but I want this darn little bit of fat gone and see some firmness going in here. hee hee. But (hee hee) check it out and see if this is something you would like to add to your workout. I love variety in my workouts so that I don’t get bored, so if you are needing more variety check this out and each week I will be adding new workout ideas that I find here.

Well, I was browsing on Fittv.com and came across a great fit tip for getting that six pack abs from my favorite exercise guru Sharon Mann. Click here to view it! Once your are on the site click on the play clip called Get six-pack abs. She makes a great point in saying that if you still have a layer of fat over your abs you will not be able to see them, so kick up the cardio to shed the fat and continue strength training in that area and soon you will see those awesome beautiful 6 pack. Yeck I would even settle for a 2 pack, lol.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at PhotobucketBowflex is probably the most recognized brands in exercise equipment. Bowflex is perhaps better known for their variety of home gyms, however they have also came out with a variety treadmills which add competition to the already crowded moderate priced treadmill market. Bowflex is not the least costly home gym, but the construction and quality are unsurpassed. Bowflex is made by the Nautilus group that makes the Nautilus, StairMaster, Schwinn and the Bowflex lines of home and commercial exercise equipment.

I have worked out with free weights and universal machines before this and with the Bowflex I feel that I get the same or even a better workout than before. I grew tired paying membership fees and the hassle of getting in my car, switching clothes, and then going to the gym. A usual trip to the fitness club would take 2-3 hours including travel time. I’m a pretty focused individual, but eventually, it becomes too difficult to get myself in the gym due to the many nuances in life.

For the average individual who is looking to get in shape the BowFlex is an ideal piece of equipment to invest in. After I first acquired mine, I began to utilize this equipment for my weight training. The Bowflex may look odd because it does not utilize traditional weights, but it is an incredibly versatile piece of exercise equipment.

One of the benefits of a Bowflex home gym is you have many variations of exercises to choose from, all with 1 machine. The Bowflex Xtreme2 for example allows you perform more than seventy different exercises including squats, which is hard to find on a typical home gym. The design of Bowflex home gyms closely simulates the range of motion achieved from using free weights.

Another great benefit of owning a Bowflex is if you are unhappy after using your Bowflex for up to 6 weeks, Bowflex will refund the purchase price of your exercise equipment less shipping and handling costs. The Bowflex is presently available in five different models with five different price tags, from an basic level sixty exercise home gym to the Bowflex Ultimate, encompassing a wide variety of 90 strength-training exercises. And the pricing ranges from a minimum of $14.00 per month and up.

Many users of the Bowflex exercise on it for 20 minutes a day and three days a week reports amazing benefits in strength and tone of their physique. Customers who use the Bowflex to boost their activity and muscle toning often report loss of weight, a decrease of body fat, and ultimately gain more muscle strength.

The Bowflex is the king of the home exercise gyms, and the number one equipment for consuming calories. The Bowflex home gym became the number one choice for home gym equipment thanks to the range of exercises achievable, compact footprint, portability feature, durability, and overall degree of safety when being compared to weight training with free weights. Bowflex is absolutely the number 1 choice for a home gym that will save you time, money, and give you the ability to workout in the convenience of your own home.

Tricep extensionThere are 2 simple things you will want to know when you’re designing an exercise workout . . .

1. Your body needs at least twenty to forty minutes of aerobic activity three to four times per week.

2. You will want to include weight training at least 2 times per week, but preferably three times a week.

If you absolutely, positively are eager to choose between aerobic exercise or weight exercise - choose cardiovascular exercise. With that choice you are working out your heart muscle and aside from the obvious advantage to that, aerobic workout can help you or lose your weight.

You need to remember that muscle burns fat, so if you can toss in about 50 push-ups before your aerobic workout, you will reap the benefits….

Why strength exercise before aerobic exercise?

Actually, for the first twenty minutes of an aerobic workout, your body is burning about 80% carbohydrates and twenty percent fat. If your goal is to be able decrease your body weight, you will want to burn more fat and less carbs, right? Well, the next twenty minutes will give you into about a fifty/fifty mode. You’re burning a lot more fat than you were and that’s a good thing.

If you exercise past 40 minutes, you will be burning about 80% fat. Realistically though, most people are not going to exercise for that long period of time. Twenty to thirty minutes of aerobic exercise is average. Now,if you start out doing push ups, you actually start the aerobic activity…not much, but it is a start. So, when you start your aerobic exercise, you may start burning that fat a little quicker.

Okay - Lets begin! First, find an aerobic activity you like. A variety of exercise is best as you will be able to keep your workouts enjoyable and it will avoid your routine from getting boring. Let’s say jogging is the exercise you enjoy and you also love aerobics, like using some of the exercise tapes from Cathe Friedrich. Now, plan your your workout schedule by deciding the days and times you can do the exercise. exercise at minimum three days per week and don’t take no more than 2 days off in a row. The most popular workout schedule is Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

Most fitness experts mainly recommend trying to exercise at the same designated time on those days; not a necessity but it helps get you into a routine and you’re more likely to continue. If you’re not going to do strength training, as mentioned previously, at minimum do a few reps of push-ups. Make sure to start your routine with a brief warm up, and gradually increase the tempo. If you’re following an exercise DVD, It is easy to know what intensity you should be following. If you will be running, try throwing in periods of faster running along the way, followed by slower running. This will definitely get you into shape. Do the aerobic DVD on some days and on the days you feel like going on a run, go run.

If you decide to weight train as well, do this two to three times a week! A good routine should include:

-Biceps Curl -Triceps Curl -Shoulder Press -Bench Press -Lunges -Calf RaisesWork up to two to three sets of eight repetitions for each exercise. By doing this will give you a full body workout.

Do this for a month and see if you don’t feel results.
