Are you like me and thinking ahead and wanting to get a plan of action together for the new year season? I know I will need to get off some off my holiday gain which is only 5 pounds so far. Not too bad this year!! Then I want to knock of 10 more pounds to bring me to 150 pounds for next summer. I have already got my shopping list together of foods that I will be eating in the new year, supplements ready and I will talk about that later, and the cardio & weight lifting plans together! I am going to be a lean mean bikini machine next summer 2008!! Plus we are planning on going to Walt Disney World too next year and typhoon lagoon here I come!!
But if you are at a lost for where to get started for your plan I found a great fitness tip on youtube by Melissa Hall, I love her!! Check this out and see if this helps you get your plan together for the New Year!
Okay… I busted my Christmas challenge already. Darn it! I have been on it since Thanksgiving and not losing jack, but maintaining my weight through this season which I am happy with compared to last year when the weight started to move up to the 170’s. This year my weight is at 163.5 and I am not going to complain. I just want to enjoy myself this holiday without the stress. So I said to myself, “I will eat in moderation and enjoy myself, but I will continue to exercise and lift to maintain until the New Year. Then I will get my act together seriously and get LEAN for summer as planned.
I found a great article in Shape magazine on called “Get your Leanest Body ever and lose 10 pounds in a month”. I am down with that!! They set up a fitness routine to challenge your muscles each day to avoid plateaus, which I hate, with 300 minutes of cardio and 2 or 3 strength sessions a week and follow “The 100% satisfaction diet too. Now the diet part I have done pack I just need the cardio. So I am excited to have a plan together to get started. I found this plan in the January 2008 issue on pages 117 and up.
If any of you are up for the challenge join me! I will be starting it officially on New Years day (Tuesday), but you know that I will have to sneak in a few moves before then to get the routine ready mentally.
Today was okay. I went into work and it was busy as hell. Not much coverage in our department which really sucked, but what can you do. I got home and wanted to exercise, but my son missed me so much so I decided to take the day off and play. He is so cute with his new conversations he is starting to have now. I love it!! And, he is still asking about Christmas too. I swear I am going to go crazy, but he is 4 and has no concept of time. Well, in a bit I am going to review the workout plan on shape.com and get ready for some action.
I hope that you all had a great day and that you are finished with you Christmas shopping too.
You know me looking for the latest and the greatest!! If you are working out your back today check this out. I found this one on youtube as well and it looks great to great started with for a nice lean upper back area.
How many of you weigh yourself daily on your scale for tracking weight loss? I know I am one of those who have become a slave to my scale daily. Now, some research has shown that it can be beneficial to weigh yourself daily to keep up with weight gain and keep you in check. The bad side of that is your weight does flucuate on a daily basis and they can be very fustrating at times when you are vunerable. Lately that has been me. I should know better for instance when you lift to build lean muscle or had a vigorious workout your body may retain lots of water which in esscence will make it appear that you have gained weight. So, if you are not in the right mind set this can become frustating and if you are an emotional eater like me it can send you off the deep end to eat more.
So, today I am going back to the old school way of tracking my weight which will be weekly weigh ins or even bi weekly. I think this will help my mind set totally! Because when I get on that scale it will be a surprise for one thing of my current weight loss and if I don’t lose much, but see results in my clothes then I will be okay. I am just so tired of daily weigh ins and feel like a slave to that darn thing and it shouldn’t be that way at all. So, if you are a newbie at this take my advice and you will feel so much better.
Anyway, today I will do the workout I had plan to do yesterday. I was so tired and couldn’t muster the strength. I thought I was getting sick, but I feel better today. So with that said. Free yourself!!
Hi everyone!! I have just been hanging out today with my son playing and sneaking wrapping up the remainder of his gifts during his nap and they are done!! I hope that you enjoy this article and if you have questions or even insight on this issue please share. Enjoy!!

The thing with dieting is that it definitely helps out on the way of losing weight, but isn’t really effective if your not working out. See, when you start dieting, you could end up losing some muscle mass and that is why we need to exercise in order to build the muscle mass back up. Your muscles are responsible for burning your fat so you definitely want to keep them in mind when starting a new diet plan.
Exercise not only helps build up muscle; it also helps burn off excess fat when you sweat. Exercise combined with a healthy diet to go a long with it can result in a quick, painless weight loss plan. Another benefit of exercising is that it speeds up your metabolism and will keep it going all day even when you’re not exercising.
If you really want to get on a good exercise routine you really need to choose one that you think you will stick with. Choosing which exercise to do everyday must be something that you will look forward to doing and something you will fall in love with. When you are done choosing which exercise you want to do make sure that you tell yourself that you will be doing it in order to have long term success.
Exercise is very crucial to even fight off certain diseases. Exercise has been proven to help or completely eliminate heart disease, diabetes, osteoporosis and a few others. It will also benefit in the resistance to getting sick and also better joint flexibility.
Here are a few of the best exercises you can get started with:
1. Walking
Walking is the best exercise to start with. Walking gets your heart pumping and also gives your leg muscles an awesome workout.
2. Running
You may want to first start out by walking and then gradually start running. This exercise is really god for your heart and also helps burn the fat off a lot quicker then walking.
3. Exercise Video
If you don’t like the outdoors because it’s too hot or cold then this is a perfect idea for you. I believe this is the best option for someone to have over getting a gym membership. This is because you can pop in the video on your own schedule and not have to worry about running into the 5 o’clock traffic at the gym.
So, there you have it. Now you know how important exercise is to have in your diet.

Well, I am over half way through my challenge and only lost 1 pound. It’s hard sometimes when you have the best intentions. The Holidays rolls around and there is always something yummy to eat and I fall for it most of the time. Why is that? I don’t know? I guess I do I love the taste of different food!! The only saving grace for me is the cardio workouts I do to keep that 1 pound of (Right now I am 164 and I want to be 160, and then 155) 4 pounds is not hard I done it before! But what is the deal here? I am a SLACKER!!! Today I am going to clean my mind and negative thoughts and continue to my goal for the new year. I have received my new Oxyegen Mag and Shape too. So I will get some new workouts and inspiration going here.
I just returned from the grocery store and my fridge is again filled healthy choices and healthy snacks too. I got my menu planned and now I need to get my body ready for some good cardio. What am I eating today? Well…
Meal 1: Cheerios (no fruit. I was out of fruit)
Meal 2: 1 slice of cheese pizza and salad
Meal 3: orange and string cheese
Meal 4: Protein Shake
Meal 5: trail mix
As far as my workouts? Just thinking about it makes me tired. I guess I didn’t sleep so maybe I will nap when my son does. Yeah right! But anyway I will:
Continue strength training my upper body. Biceps curls and hammer curls, butterflies, bench press and the Arnold press too. Oh yeah, Abs!
Cardio… cardio.. CARDIO!! Ugh.. But I will get it done. 30 minutes of step aerobics and 10-15 minutes on the elliptical I got last Friday!!
Then later I will get ready to watch the biggest loser. Who do you think is going home today? Will it be another blue team member or a black team member? Even though Neil was acting silly at the beginning of the season I hope he stays!! It’s time for a black team member to stay. What do you think?
I found yet another great clip from youtube by Doug Jones on how to properly workout the biceps. You guys my love this too. I know I am working out that area today along with my back, shoulders, and triceps. I thought he provided great tips and safety this to be aware of too in order to avoid injuries.
It came across an interesting article by Tosca Reno in the January Issue of Oxygen Magazine on page 66. Tosca Reno, Oxygen’s fabulous 40 something columnist (she looks great for being in her 40’s!!), is the author of The Eat-Clean Diet and new book coming out soon called The Eat-Clean Diet Workout book. She is very inspiring and physically fit for her age. The name of this article is called I’m coming clean where she shares very personal issues that her readers have been asking her. People have been asking her if she has had cosmetic surgery to enhance her body. She says that she hasn’t had liposuction, face lift, tummy tuck, fat grafting at all. However the one thing she admits having done was her breast.
The reason why she explains, “Training hard and eating clean 364 days of the year took a toll on my former 36-B bust line. I kept my body lean and traded away cleavage while I was building curves- a shapely quad sweep: higher, tighter gluts and more. I enjoyed watching the transformation, but I did not like what happened up front. My boobs were floating in her bras.” She also goes on and says that, “this is common among fitness athletes. When you eat clean and training regularly, things get smaller, including the breast. Most of the women you see in the pages of Oxygen have had similar adjustment made because they too keep their bodies so lean. In fact breast augmentation is the most common plastic surgery procedure in North America today. Since breast are mostly fatty tissue they are the first to go when the body becomes lean….”
Can some of you out relate to this issue after losing weight or training? I know I can. I remember at 225lbs by bust size was a 42D and after the weight loss I am at 34b cup which is too small and a 34C is better, but my girls will not even fill the cup. I also fail to tell you that when I was at my heaviest I was also nursing too so my breast inflated to an DD. So now they are sagging and lower that they should be. Even when I where a push up bra the girls don’t hold up they sink. (double boo hoo ) Can you relate? Have any of you corrected the problem and decided to get a breast lift or augmentation? If so, I would like to now:
The cost?
recovery time?
Are the any follow ups to maintain the implants?
Will the implants have to be replace after a certain amount of time and will it be an additional cost?
The reason why I would like to know is that I am seriously thinking about having the procedure done on my self. I have talked seriously with my husband and he says if that is what I want then go for it, however I know the cost is high and I want to save up for it and have to ability to afford to stay at home during the recovery process. I know this may seem vain to some people, but to lose the weight and feel great physically, but not in the girls is kind of tormenting at times and it would be fabulous to display the bust area in a nice top without worrying if I could fill it. If you live in the Austin, Tx area and had the procedure done and are very pleased with your results, please let some comments of who are where you had the procedure done?
If you are like me too seriously do some research before jumping the gun to fast and make sure this is right for you. Within the next few weeks I will be doing some research myself and consulting with some physicians myself to find out if I want to go through this or not. The thought of surgery scares me. Also during this research I will share with you my findings.
Until then I’ll chat later!!

It is so nice to be off from work and to hang out with my little one today. We are just watching movies and playing games here and there. it’s snack time so I get a little break to return back and tell you how my morning is going. So far I had
Meal 1: eggs, ham, grapes
meal 2: sun chips (needed my snack a bit earlier, but that’s okay
meal 3: Will be a protein shake
Meal 4: Tuna, green beans again
Meal 5: Weight watcher chocolate Popsicle
As far as my exercise I will be working out my lower body. So here’s to strong quads, hamstrings, thighs and butt today!! Then I think I will attempt to do more cardio with my step aerobic DVD and my step bench up to the max. I thought that was a really good workout. So, what are YOU going to be doing today to keep yourself in shape this holiday season?
Today was a great day for getting back to good ole clean healthy eating, lifting, and cardio. I feel so much better just after today Besides the fact that I was going to the bathroom non stop. It must be all of the water I was retaining. Yey!! Today my son was just an angel we played together and I was working with him with his writing and counting. After that he wanted to play in his playroom, so I was like okay… and I went ahead and did 20 minutes of cardio. I did step aerobics and I even increased the intensity of my workout and raised up my riser to the max. Man, was I breathing hard, but awesome workout!
Then a bit later we were watching Aladdin in our bedroom and half way into the movie I decided that since the bowflex was looking at me I would work out my upper body. I ended up doing 30 minutes!! I even added in some free weights too. I am now lifting the 10lbs now! That’s good progress for me I was lifting 5lbs weights for my biceps, triceps, and shoulder workouts. Yahoo! Maybe next month I will be lifting so 15’s. hee hee
My meal plan was awesome today and I stuck to it 100%. I ate:
Meal 1: protein Shake
Meal 2: eggs, ham, and orange
Meal 3: banana & string cheese
Meal 4: Tuna steak & green beans
Meal 5: snack trail mix
I also got in 64 ounces of water too!! So today I can smile and go to bed ready for tomorrow. I am off from workout so, I am going to do tae bo and workout my lower body. Then later I will watch the biggest loser!! I wonder what will happened this week? Well, I better go to bed now.
