april-2008-023.jpgAs I mention before the scale and I have been in cahoots since Easter Sunday’s splurges and post Easter fun too. What does it take to get the mind serious enough to get in shape? I guess when the size 8 are fitting so tight to the point you have to wear 10’s, right? Well that is where I am currently at and I don’t want to be there anymore. I refuse to buy bigger sized clothes, I absolutely will not. I will only buy 8’s and 10’s for this summer so that means on thing. Get to work!! So far my progress post Easter has been(Pre Weigh in Numbers were at 172lbs:

  1. Week1 (March 30th): -1 (171)
  2. Week 2(April 6th): 0 (171) I found the reason why I had no lost is due to late night snacking. So this week I am hoping to see big improvement because I purchased so gum to chew on when I get in the snacky mode. Usually I am not hungry I just want something to chew or crunch on. So the gum or carrots will be a tremendous help.

My new goals or rewards will be in order to keep myself on track and motivated are:

  1. 170lbs: Purchase a pair of Michael Kors sunglasses, or cheaper the ones from his outlet store for $60. Hee hee
  2. 165lbs: Purchase a New Eyeshadow pallet by Nars.
  3. 160lbs: Purchase a workout suit from BeBe Sport. What do you think of this outfit?
  4. 155lbs: A sports armband to hold my Ipod.
  5. 150lbs: New workout shoes by Nike.

So, those are my incentive goals. Many people usually ask me what keeps me motivated to maintain or lose, well here you go! Also I love wear the small clothing and the way I look in them. I also love the look my husband gives me too.

So what are your goals for this summer? I would love to know? Did you gain a bit during the winter months and are ready to reveal your spring/summer bods? Let me know and we can keep each other focused. Well, I am off to stretch and do 25 minutes of cardio today on my elliptical and workout my abs. Yesterday I did 30 minutes of steps and 20 minutes of weights and I am sore so I will keep the cal intake low and keep cardio low impact too.

have a great day :)

Did you guys see the biggest loser show this week? What a great show!! The contestants that remains got a trip of a life time to Sydney, Australia!! I should wish I was in their shoes because the scenery was totally awesome!!

It was so nice to see them immerse themselves in the culture and see how the can travel and still maintain their healthy new lifestyle at the same time. I loved it when they all went to the market and the boys was getting ready to order squid (yuck, by the way) and Mark was having fun playing with the crabs in the tank. The girls ended up eating oysters. Kelly did not want any part of the, but Jillian made her do it!! It was funny. The also got a chance to go out with Bob and Jillian and dance the night away. Did all of the contestants look great! And, then there is Ali, she is looking for beautiful!!

But after the fun and games the contestant had a big challenge ahead of them. A triathlon. I am so proud of all of them because they all completed it with pride. I love what Mark decided to do because he was about to take first place and win, but he set aside his competitive edge and decided not to win, but instead wait for Ali and cross the finish line with her and tie the challenge. Wasn’t that awesome!! Mark has came along way and now has changed into more of a compassionate and considerate person, not having to win it all, but instead share the glory. I was in tears. The entire cast was in tears because they have never completed something so big in their lives. Wouldn’t you be on top of the world if you accomplished something so big? I would feel powerful and unstoppable.

20080220-img_2758r.jpgLater on in the show the teams were training for the last weigh in and they had trained hard. At the weigh in the weight loss was very low. I mean low, jay was +1, Mark +1, Rodger -3, Kelly -1, Ali -3 leaving Jay and Mark below the yellow line. During the weigh in Mark was already in tears and the entire cast was too because now they have to decided between to brothers. It was tough Jay immediately told everyone to vote him off because he could not vote of Mark again. he said, mark had worked too hard to come back and he just could not do it. It was hard for Mark because they went through this journey together and they both had changed. It would also be hard for him to finish this with out his brother. Anyway, Jay goes home and the final thing that kept me in tears is when everyone united as 1 including Jay and they braked saying , “PRIDE”. I just was in tears and I could cry right now as I typed this. This is what the show is about and it is so life changing too.

If you are still struggling with your weight I would totally suggest for you to watch this show for pure inspiration. it wonderful and that is why I still watch it till this day. Thank you biggest loser! Click here to watch the show!

Weight Loss and a Busy Schedule - How Do You Make Them Work Together?
By Tyler Boshears

I know what your thinking, “I never have time to think let alone make a plan to lose weight!” It’s the common excuse of those that have tried and failed many times. This excuse is not valid in my opinion, as it won’t be a difficult task if you make it a priority and work it into your schedule as an every day part of life. Here’s how I mixed my weight loss with my extreme schedule and made it work.

The first thing I decided to do was write out my current eating schedule (or lack thereof) so that I knew what my current habits were like. I then wrote out how I would ideally like to set my eating and workout schedule up. After having the schedule I wanted written out on a piece of paper, I began looking for ways I could make it happen. For instance, I wanted to have 5 meals throughout the day, but 4 days out of the week I’m at work and pretty much am forced to adhere to my work schedule. So what I did was set up small portioned meals I could take with me to work and eat them on the breaks I was given. I knew that it would be a whole lot easier to follow a routine if I had it planned out beforehand.

With the eating planned out, I knew I still needed to find time to workout. Not only did I need to find time to workout, but I had to plan it within a 10 hour work day, which if anyone has worked them, they know how exhausting they can be. For my own personal benefit, I decided to plan my workouts before work as after working out my body is set up to burn more calories throughout the day. I also tend to be more energized which helps tremendously on those long work days.

If you have a very busy schedule, don’t think you can’t incorporate a healthy lifestyle into it. It may take some effort and some will power, but it IS possible. Just like anything else, the first week or two will feel different, but after a while it tends to feel like a normal day which is exactly how you want it to feel. Good Luck!
