So far this weight thing is like an emotional roller coaster. One week I am doing just fine. Then week 2 I lose my mind. Either not training enough or not eating the right portion of food. But here is my progress so far:

  • March 3oth: 172
  • April 6th: 171 (-1)
  • April 13th: 173 (+2) not enough working out.
  • April 20th: 171.5 (-1.5) Getting back on track
  • April 27th: haven’t checked yet hopefully 170!!! Why? So that I can get my first darn reward.  Michael Kors sunglasses!

So, what am I going to do about that. STOP LATE NIGHT SNACKING!!! Today was my day off from working out but tomorrow it is ON!! I will be doing 25 minutes of cardio on the elliptical and 45minutes of my fav, Jari Love “get ripped 1000″!

Well, I am out for now. Just got home from work and would like to relax now, chat with DH, and read my new book of the month called “the memory keepers daughter”.

I just had to share this tip with you, so that you have something to think about over the weekend. It is by Jillian Michaesl from the Biggest Loser on NBC. As you know she has her own weight loss plan and I signed up for the sake of get healthy knowledge for my brain that will better help me to continue living a healthy lifestyle and not to revert back to the old me. I loved the I signed up because I get daily words of motivation from her and it gets me psyched up to make better decisions each day. Anyway, I would like to share her “One Size Doesn’t Fit All” with you and if you love it check her out and sign up too.

Enjoy!

One Size Doesn’t Fit All

Ever try to squeeze your foot into a shoe that’s one size too small just because you love the style? Doesn’t work, does it? Well, maybe you can cram your feet into those shoes for the sake of a special evening, but you can’t wear them all the time. They’re just too uncomfortable!

Starving yourself with the goal of creating a physique that’s contrary to your natural body type is a similar thing. You might get there for month or two, but eventually your body will rebel.

Ultimately, there are three basic body types. It’s important to understand your shape and know what you can and can’t expect. Which one best describes you?

* The apple shape. The apple tends to store fat in his or her upper body, so if a person is carrying extra weight, it is usually around the belly. Fat stored in the upper body can lead to heart disease, so it is important for apples to be health conscious. Apples have evolved to store fat in this way to adapt to long periods of famine.
* The pear shape. Pears hold the majority of their fat in the lower body: hips, buttocks, saddlebags. Pears are mostly women. This shape has evolved because fat stored in these areas aids in fertility and breast-feeding. This type of fat is not as much of a health risk as abdominal fat, but it is harder to lose.
* The proportioned shape. Lucky proportionates have fat cells distributed equally throughout their entire body. When they gain weight, they gain it everywhere. When they lose weight, it comes off evenly.

How are you all doing on hump day Wednesday? It is almost the weekend and I am feeling on fire!! I have been consistent with my workouts and it is starting to pay off. I am feeling the inches melt away and I can tell because my 8’s are starting to fit a bit better. I even went to the Michael Kors outlet to find a outfit to wear for a night out last weekend and that didn’t happened. But anyway, I was looking to buy a pair of skinny jeans and the sales clerk handed me an size 8. I was like yeah, right. .  The jeans are awesome and i will have to take a pic soon, because they ended up fitting!! The are a dark wash and on the back, the pocket flaps are studded in silver. I love them. I can’t wait to hop on the scale in the morning to see if I am at 170 or even 169!!

Today my training was:

  1. Billy Blanks Tae Bo DVD for 30 minutes of cardio, done!!
  2. 10 minutes of ad training
  3. 15×3 reps of triceps and biceps

My meal plan:

  1. Meal 1: BSN lean dessert protein shake from bodybuilding.com
  2. Meal 2: Salad with Chicken
  3. Meal 3: Yogurt and banana
  4. Meal 4: Chicken and vegetable couscous, yummy!!
  5. Meal 5: protein bar

so, I am excited!! The gum and carrot trick at night is helping me so much in order to stay away from high calorie temptations that were added in my previous weight gain. No more!! Well, I better hit the showers and get ready for work tonight. I have to close the store out tonight and make women look beautiful this summer. I hope that you all had a great day and Tressa I promise I will get the Vlog going. DH fixed our cam and I will be ready to go. Only if I have energy after coming home from work tonight, lol.

Think about all of the plastic water bottles that we drink to keep our bodies hydrated throughout one week. I know that I for sure drink 64 ounces of water a day which equates to two 32oz bottles a day = 14 plastic bottles trashed per week. Now, for a month that equates to 56 bottles thrown away and for the year that’s 672 bottles. Holy cow!! What is that doing to our environment? Anyone have any clues?

Instead of picking up a bottle water I am looking to purchase a reusable bottle, however after reading shape mag and other articles I want one that is free of bisphenol A which is a chemical found in many plastic containers. What is Bisphenol A? Well according to, Toxic Nation, at evironmentaldefence.ca

Bisphenol A is primarily used to make polycarbonate plastic (recycling # 7) food and beverage containers, plastic food wrap, and epoxy resins that are used to line metal cans for foods, such as cans of soup. Bisphenol A can leach from these products as they age, to be subsequently ingested by people. Recent research has shown that this chemical is an estrogenic hormone disruptor that can cause reproductive damage and birth defects that may lead to prostate and breast cancer in adulthood.

I didn’t think nothing of it, but I have heard of cases like this more frequently, so now I more eager about getting a reusable bottle. One to help the environment and two for my health in the long run. The bottle that I came across was the CamelBak bottle that was featured in Shape magazine:

The features of this bottle are:

  • Made of Eastman Tritan™ copolyester, the bottle is completely BPA-free and is dishwasher safe
  • Tritan™ copolyester provides excellent impact resistance and is suitable for both warm and cold beverages
  • Bypass the potential hazards of drinking from wide openings—CamelBak’s Big Bite valve eliminates awkward drips and spills
  • Just bite and sip and the beverage flows through the valve—you don’t even need to tip the bottle to drink

This savvy bottles retails for $13, but if you are a shape reader, Shape is giving 50 shape readers the chance to win a CamelBak Better bottle. Click here to win. If you don’t win you can always got to rei.com to purchase this awesome bottle in any shade you hearts desire. Well I am off to try and win one of those bad boys and if I do I will post of pic.

Happy Earth day!!

lead_image.jpgHappy Friday all! I hope that you all had a great week and are getting closer to you weight loss goals, or leaning up and firming for that next competition. I am definitely more focused this week and very excited to try new things to get this body lean. I was browsing on Oxygen.com and came across this simple workout that anyone can do from home without breaking the bank.

If you want a leaner back all you need to have is a balance ball, dumbbells and a barbell to get into shape. I tired it the other night and I am sore, but that is to be expected. So if you are looking for something new to try and are bored click here to see the full routine.

Until next time have a great week and I will chat with you all next week. Lets get firm and lean together one day at a time!!

A diverticulitis diet is pretty easy to go by, and if you are aware of the items you should and should not have a person won’t have any issues at all.  It is a must for everyone that may be having problems or has suffered from this disease in the past.  The diverticulitis diet is designed to reduce the stress on the intestines and to help relieve the symptoms, that includes cramping and inflammation, that can happened during a diverticulitis attack.  A diverticulitis diet is key when diverticula, in your intestines, become infected or irritated.

Diverticulitis

A person with diverticulitis may get diverticulitis when waste material and bacteria get stuck in a pouch (diverticula).  It can be either painful and in some risky scenarios need an operation.  Diverticulitis is a common digestive disorder, which is summarized by the swelling of pouches called diverticula on the outside of the colon.  It is three times more likely to happened in the left area of the large intestine, and males are three times as likely as women to suffer from the disorder.

The excellent thing is that Diverticulitis can be prevented by sticking to a well balanced diet.  The basic idea behind the Diverticulitis Diet is to prevent the accumulation of new pouches by assisting the food passing efficiently through the colon.  Basically, this is a diet suited for people who may suffered from diverticulitis or are suffering from constipation.

Foods

Aging and genetics are big factors in the development of diverticulitis although diet also plays a role as eating a lot of low-fiber refined foods can greatly increase the risk.  The great news is that there is a better way to achieve your goals of an effective diverticulitis diet that includes a balance of healthy foods taking better supplements.

It’s highly recommended that a person eat foods such as fresh fruits, whole grains, and vegetables due to their high fiber content.  Foods including nuts, popcorn, and sunflower, pumpkin, caraway, and sesame seeds should not be consumed.  Also avoid refined foods such as white flour, white rice, and other processed foods.  Foods containing fiber have a tendency to comprise nutrients like vitamins A, C, and E and selenium, useful in fighting cancer.  In both scenarios with or without diverticulitis, you may want to stick to a diet that includes an abundance of NATURAL fiber from whole foods.

To summarize this all, a diverticulitis diet is used by thousands of people all over the continent that suffer from this issue.  The Diverticulitis Diet is created to avoid diverticulitis from beginning, or re-occurring.  The diverticulitis diet is specifically designed to reduce the swelling by avoiding the intestine to not to have to work so hard during the time when it’s most sore and upset.  The Diverticulitis Diet is a diet made to reduce further attacks of diverticulitis, or alleviated the symptoms of this painful abdominal disorder.

I want to vote for Mark in a sneaky way because he couldn’t possibly lose any more, well have big numbers, which would let a female competitor win for the first time. Do you hear me ladies???
