I was just browsing for greeting cards this year early. Why? It never fails, but I always wait until the last minute to purchase my holiday christmas cards. This is bad for me because what is usually left is the picked over selections that you really do not want, but you get it anyway to get the cards out to friends and family as soon as possible. I was browsing the web and came across a great fit tips on youtube by Melissa Hall. I believed she graced the cover of the September issue of Oxygen Magazine. I love browsing for new recipes, because I don’t know about you but I easily get bored of eating the same thing over and over again. No, chicken is a staple in my diet and I have been look for ways to spice it up a bit without adding to many calories and fat to it. So I was browsing Allrecipes.com and they had a yummy Jerk Chicken recipe that I am going to try tomorrow night!! New stuff, Yeah! Give it a try and see if this is a good one to keep in the menu plan.

I finally got my little boy down for his nap. FINALLY!! We have been to the mall, inflatable wonderful, and McDonald’s Playland too. He looked tired and man am I too. I should start weight training right now, but… I wanna nap too. I guess there is no rest for the wicked huh? I guess I will get my big but up and workout my upper body. I will be working out my chest, biceps, triceps, lats, deltoids, upper and lower back and shoulders. Tressa, I will need the force to be with me on this one, lol. Well, I better go before this workout I planned does not happened.

I was at the mall again with Arman just browsing and noticing all of the retailers store’s decorated for the holidays. I am also a fragrance girl and I noticed all of the fragrance gifts set coming in already. Holy cow, they are beautiful and seem to be a great deal until I started to browse online and came across this discounted retailer called Perfumebay.com.

This online retailer has a wide range of fragrances, skincare, and make-up. It was almost too much for me, but on the other hand that is great because you can shop for everyone and find every brand on their website that is discounted almost 40%-50% of the retail price. I saw fragrances by alfred sung, Christian Dior, Dolce Gabbana, Victoria Secret, Calvin Klein Perfumes, Colognes & Fragrances For Men & Women. Hey Everyone! I found an great article for those who are struggling with their diets and think that skipping breakfast will do them justice in losing weight. Importance of Breakfast in Your Diet

This may be due to any number of reasons…rushing off to work, jumping into household chores, getting caught up with child care or just plain poor eating habits. Breakfast is an important element in one’s daily diet, whatever type of diet you may prefer.

I used to skip breakfast all the time. I would often fill up on water and head out the door for the daily 1.5 hour commute to work. Of course, the first stop after getting off the train would be a coffee - simply to keep me going, not for the caffeine fix! When I worked in the Corporate World, I counted myself among the many who would skip their morning meal. Breakfast was a luxury time didn’t permit.

Some who are very weight loss conscious, or just wish to control weight through diet, erroneously think that skipping breakfast is a good way to eliminate calories. This is a mistake in terms of overall health, calorie control and good diet habits. Because the food we eat in our diet, the times when we eat and the particular type of food intake (protein, starch, sugar) all affect blood sugar levels and appetite. We need to control food intake in our diet in order to keep energy and blood sugar at appropriate levels.

I started back at the gym two months ago after a five year hiatus. One of the first things I did, even before setting foot in the door of the gym, was incorporate a breakfast and a morning snack into my daily routine. It’s made the world of difference. In fact, the days that I don’t eat a full meal or skip my snack, I feel it in my energy levels when I hit the gym.

In essence when we awake in the morning our body has been through a period of “fasting”, with no food intake for a number of hours. This results in relatively low blood sugar. If one skips breakfast in one’s diet, the blood sugar level continues to dip and a sudden craving can develop for food, especially for sugar in the diet, which again causes a quick rise in blood sugar. When the diet includes sudden intake of sugar, the sugar level jumps, which develops a roller coaster effect and leads to a poor diet which includes “quick fixes”. Typically a quick response to low blood sugar is a sweet, a soft drink or alcohol…none of which are a good diet supplement.

A diet which maintains appropriate levels of blood sugar and energy will include a healthy breakfast. Blood sugar levels will be maintained with a diet that includes a balanced breakfast combining whole grain, some source of protein and fruit. Protein in particular in the diet, including breakfast, will maintain blood sugar levels, avoiding the dips which lead to snacking.

If you’re pressed for time, consider a smoothie. You can chop your fruits and vegetables the night before and load them into your blender glass. Refrigerate overnight (or not if you prefer room temperature smoothies) and whirl away in the blender in the morning along with your favorite liquid. Five minutes is all you’ll need to whip up a nutritious and substantial breakfast. You can even pour it into a travel mug or neoprene jug and tote it with you on your commute.

A healthy breakfast is an essential part of a healthy diet. Beginning your day with a good, nourishing meal is the first step toward maintaining a balanced diet and a sensible approach to good eating habits. Don’t skip breakfast in your daily diet.

I feel so much better now. I just got home from work at 8:30pm and I was going to not workout tonight. I know! Not workout? No way!! The reason why I was not going to workout is because I am starting to feel sore from my leg/butt workout I did yesterday.  I feel like my muscles are swollen especially around my left knee cap. It’s mostly likely a build up of lactic acid, but nothing too serious. Anyway after I got my little off to night night land. I braved the T.V. and popped in Billy Blanks tae bo cardio workout and completed the 30 minute workout. Yey!! I am happy because now I feel great that I done it and I also burned off an additional 460 calories by doing so. Now I can truly rest for the evening feeling like I meet my plan today and I can further move forward to tomorrow. That’s right the workouts continue. I will workout my upper body and abdominals with weights and then later that evening I will got for a 2 mile jog with my friend in the neighborhood and burn more cals. Well, I am off for now to look for some new recipes and if I find one I will share it with you all too!

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket    Did you all see the Biggest Loser episode night? Oh my! The red team’s trainer, Kim Lyons, is going to be pist!! Why? Well the red team lost the weigh in and since David was the biggest loser on his team he was given immunity from being voted off. As a result, Amy, Phil and Bryan was left with the possibility of going home. Before the elimination Kim had a meeting with the red team and advise them not to send Phil home since he was the one carrying the team and winning most if not all of the challenges for them. And, to make matters worse she said if they voted him off she would fear that the red team would lose every weigh in which I completely agree with because it is a numbers game. On top of that, she told them to not have the voting to come to a tie because this would leave the fate of their team in the hands of the blue team to decided who should go home. So, if the blue team would be the deciding factor they would be dumb not to vote off Phil because he is a threat to them in future challenges. I felt bad for Amy. because that automaticaly made her a target for getting voted off. I can understand why she was mad, but this is a numbers game.

As a result, the elimination came and it did come to a tie. So with that said the blue team did decided to vote off Phil. It was a bitter sweet. The entire cast in the elimination room, blue team and red team, was both in tears. Hell, I was in tears. Phil felt great that everyone thought that he was a threat and how awesome was he to share some words of encouragement to everyone before he left. WAY TO GO PHIL!!! Even though Phil left he did not stop and continued to lose weight from home, inspire his family members to lose weight and live a healthier lifestyle and he looks AWESOME!! I can’t wait until the season finally to see who wins the prize for the group of member that did not make the final 3.

I finally came through with what I had planned out today for workouts and completed them. I am also getting my mind prepared for the soreness I will be feeling tomorrow, lol. Overall, I feel awesome and  maybe later I will do some cardio with Billy Blanks’ Fat blasting cardio, but only after I finish watching the biggest loser tonight. I can’t wait to see what will happened tonight. Will Another Black team member go home? We will see.

In the meantime, I will be browsing the web for some inexpensive workout clothes to purchase. It seems like the sports bras I have are maybe too big and not giving me enough support during my cardio workouts and I do not want to hurt the girls I have left anymore. ha ha! I saw some cute one by BeBe Sport and Nike, but I will keep looking. Well, I am out for a bit. Chat later.
