Well yesterday was another good day for me. I got a lot of walking in during the day and I also ate pretty good too. I tried this new Special K cereal for breakfast that had chocolate chips in it and it was GOOD!! I almost wanted seconds, but I knew that would have been glutenous, huh? Then for lunch at work I had some sushi with salad and dinner was a hamburger with fruit on the side!! Yum Yum! That morning I have to say that when I got on the scale the number remained at 163.5, but I am feeling the inches come off my waist again which is great!! So I can’t complain.
I was pretty tired from work yesterday. We actually started selling to customers which was fun show the Bare Escentials and helping with lip color decisions too. The only bad thing about yesterday was that my feet were killing me! My heels weren’t too high, but damn! I felt like Yeta from the Nanny show with Fran? You know who I am talking about. But when it was time to clock out and walk to my car it seemed like it took forever!! So my mission when I got home was to buy some comfortable shoes after dinner. So me and my little went to the mall and I actually found a pair of flat shoes by Mudd at sears. They were on sale and felt like a pair of shoes I can stand in for hours. I guess today will be the real test, so I will let you know how they felt later tonight. Well I am off to study and look at some products for acne prone skin since I will be seeing a few clients today. I just want to know the right brands to recommend and know on hand a variety a price points from different brands that I can offer each customer, you know? Because some people may be able to afford to spend $100+ one great skincare and then there may be others that may be on a tight budget too! So, I want to be able to know the right prices for each client.
I was cooking last night in my kitchen which is pretty nice with the exception of my counter tops. Okay, now I have plenty of counter space, believe me I love it, but.. Yep there is a but. I have rethinking how much I dislike them so much. We have purchased our home almost 3 years ago and the one thing that is a must have in my kitchen is nice counter tops and a grand black splash. I guess I just love to have a kitchen with a clean, traditional style. But what’s wrong with them? Well the previous owner must have loved the color purple/mauve tone because you can totally tell that they installed the tile counter tops and back splash too themselves. How do I know? Well the tile is not measured out right, it is cut in different lengths, and my island is also tiled however with a slit slope, and to top it off the tile wasn’t grouted properly too. It tell you it is a do it yourself project gone bad.
Now my hubby has promised that we will eventually remodel the counter tops and back splash, but I am adventurous and curious to know how difficult it would be to do it yourselves? We have remodeled or first home back in 2000. We did bathroom with new vanity, refinished walls, installed the toilet and all. So, I could not imagine with the right direction of this cool website I came across called doityourself.com I could not go wrong. This site is an open, free community with thousands of articles and over 100 active forums on several do-it-yourself home improvement topics ranging from bathroom remodels, install a skylight, to my favorite kitchen remodeling. I feel that knowledge is power and with the tools you get I can’t imagine having my new counter tops and back splash look as bad as they do now. You also can buy do it yourself DVD’s to assist you along the way. If you are in a remodel mode like me right now I would check this site out and see if your hubby will let you put your new project on agenda for next spring, heck maybe before your next holiday dinner this year! That’s what I am hoping for.

Hey everyone it is almost Friday!! Yey!! I can’t believe it ya’ll, but I actually exercised for 30 minutes, I ate healthy and drank my water today. I am finally feeling 90% better than I did earlier this week, thank God! I guess my allergy medicine must have finally kicked in and in turn is relieving my lethargic feeling I had the past week. If I feel like this when I get home I will exercise to my step aerobics and lift weights too. Yip, Yip!! How are you feeling today? Did you do something that just makes you jump for joy? Maybe you lose 2 pounds this week or you finally fit into your favorite jeans. Talk to me!!
Well, tomorrow our little boy is going back to school. He did not go on Wednesday because he was not feeling well and today he was so happy and back to himself now. I just pray he does not throw a tantrum when I drop him off before I go to work. I would just go nuts! I even bride him and told him that if he was good at school daddy will take him to McDonald’s for dinner. I am bad, huh? I gotta try something. How long do you think it will take for him to adjust to going to school 3 days a week. Any experienced moms out there with any advice? I would love it all. I am off for the evening now. I got to watch the Bare Essentials training video tonight before I go to work. The product is really cool!! The product is so pure you can sleep in it. I sound like the infomercial huh? Well I’ll chat later.
Oh NO!!! Did you all see the biggest loser yesterday??? They voted off one of my favorites. Whaaaaaa! They voted the awesome Jerry off. What do you all think about that? I was kind of shocked because he worked so hard at becoming the blue team’s captain and at the first weigh in he last the most weight! 32 POUNDS and they voted him off. I couldn’t believe it because he also was the one that pick the fellow team members and if it was up to him they could have been packing their bags and returning home. I guess what can you do, but the great thing about him is that he did not let that elimination defeat his goal which was to lose the weight and get healthy in order to see if grandchildren graduate from high school. Guess what he did it too. He has lost 88 pounds since the elimination and he looks AWESOME!! I feel that he is a great role model for those seniors that may be thinking I am too old to lose weight or the weight loss will take too long. Shoot if you saw this I think that his story will motivate and inspire anyone at any age to lose weight and reclaim their health.
Way To Go Jerry!!! I love this show!!!
I personally did not exercise due to me being sick, but I am feeling better and stronger that I will do some low impact aerobics tomorrow since I am off of work. Well, I am off to rest for the night. I am tired still because our little one has been sick with allergies still and was up all night coughing and vomiting too. So I pray that the meds kick in so that he can get well and be ready to school on Friday. He did not go to school today because I knew he was too woozy and had lack of sleep which makes for a crabby 3 year-old and I did not want to burden the teachers, so he stayed with DH today while I worked. Say a pray everyone.

Have anyone of you vacationed at a bed and breakfast before? I have never done that with my hubby and I was thinking that would be something relaxing to do for our 9 year wedding anniversary next June 2008. I was browsing the web and I did not realize that there was so many Texas bed and breakfast in my own backyard! I was at this site called iloveinns.com and they had a variety of locations you can lodge at in the state of Texas. There was so many different styles of bed and breakfast to choose from. Now we just need to find a sitter for maybe 3 days. Maybe grandpa will be so gracious. We will see. If you live in my neck of the woods and looking for a relaxing getaway check out this site.

I just had to share this youtube of Kimora Lee Simmons spring 2008 collection. I love her clothing line!! It is fun, sexy and fabulous! If you don’t know I love fashion and now that I lost the weight I love it even more now. Why? Because I can now wear all of the fun goodies now!! But take a peak and tell me what you think? I love the fun colors!! The yellows and pinks are my favorites.
Okay, today is day one of me getting back to my healthy routine. The fun eating and lack of movement is over. At least that is what my mind is saying, but my body is saying something else. Gotta love it. Today my entire family is home with severe allergies. Oh Man!! I don’t want to be sick and then DH and our son is too. Geez. I am feeling achy and drained. I did manage to sleep in late, but now I want to exercise. What’s the problem I don’t have any energy. My head feels like it is going to pop off and my body is aching from work. What is a girl to do! I could do a really low impact routine by Denise Austin, but I feel like my body will not burn much for what it is worth. I need high cardio, but the bods not willing. Okay I will stop complaining. I am just mad!! My scale is moving back down in the right direction starting this week at 165 to 163.5 so I guess I am happy with that especially since I did not exercise at all this week yet.
The biggest loser comes on later today and I am watching it all in its entirety. I need the motivation myself. You know? I can’t forget my goal which is to lean up and tone up this fall, so that I can have that awesome summer body and look great in some of the fall clothes I just recently purchased. I promise I will show and tell with pics. I just need to wait until I feel pretty enough to take pics, lol. I am feeling pretty gross. Okay I will stop. Well, I am hoping that my little on is off to sleep, so that I can sleep or read “Burn the Fat Feed the Muscle”. See Tressa I am reading it soon. Hopefully today. hee hee And I will blog about it later tonight.
“A little bit of confidence can get you started building a lot more confidence. And with sufficient confidence, anything is within your reach.
As you look in the direction of your goal, you’ll see some small step that you are absolutely certain you can take. So go ahead and take that step.
Though you may not yet have the confidence to complete the whole project, you certainly have the confidence to get started. Get started then, and watch your confidence level quickly grow.
Make use of what confidence you now have and the confidence you need for what is next will surely come.
By venturing a little bit out of your comfort zone, you can significantly expand it. By continuing to take on new challenges, just a little bit at a time you can truly achieve whatever you choose.
Starting with only the smallest glimmer of confidence, you can realistically reach even the most ambitious goals. Because your confidence will grow stronger and stronger with every step along the way.”
Wow, last week went fast!! I can’t believe I made it through my little one’s first week of school which was a emotional roller coaster for me and my hubby. The first and second day went well then day three came and boy did it shake us up a bit. He went to school with DH and he was excited to go,but when DH was getting ready to leave he started to cry saying this hurt and that hurt and he wanted to go home (Allergy season for us all right now). The teacher assured my hubby that he will be okay and that they will call if he didn’t calm down. Shortly after that I got a call from my hubby explaining this too me and he felt so bad that our little one was feeling so sad when he dropped him off. Later that day my hubby called back and found out that our little guy was doing just fine and playing. So I was so relieved and I couldn’t wait to get off of work to go get him. When I got him he was so happy to see me and I was the same. So we got home and played and watched the power rangers which is now his new favorite to watch. He sat there for a while and enjoyed the shows while I was sneaking in some cat naps.
Did I mention how tired I was last week and even today. I have been working 7 days straight as of tomorrow stocking and merchandising the new Sephora Store that I will be at. I thought it would be so easy and it was, but it was very physical. It was stressful at time, but fun too! I know for sure any of you make-up divas out there would have just been in heaven!! So many products and brands to choose from. I am going to go crazy!!! We get to go shopping for products this week and I have my listed started. I want the following, but it does not contain all:
Sephora brand compact powder d34
Smashbox photo finish primer
Urban Decay Primer potion for the eyes, which is AWESOME!! You eye shadow will last all day.
Too Faced black licorice eye shadow quad
Urban decay waterproof eye liner
Tarte tool kit for the brows or Anatasia??
Bourjois nude lip liner and 3d gloss
I COULD GO NUTS!! There is more but I will not kill you eyes tonight. hee hee
But the store is almost ready for grand opening this coming week and I am excited.
However, with all of the fun, excitement, allergies, and work my diet has really suffered this past week. YUCK!! They had so many treats and lunches offered to all of the associates and I could not refused. So as a result, again my scale is up from me eating badly and no maintaining my aerobic activity, and to top it of my allergies are killing me which makes me feel sluggish and not too motivated to exercise. I just can’t wait until this week is over and then I will be back to a normal schedule. This 7am-5pm shift is wearing me out, on top of being a mom, cleaning, cooking, and others things I am sure you others moms know what I mean.
So, with that said, starting Monday I am getting myself in order starting with eating healthy and since I am off on Tuesday I will sleep in with my little on and start my exercise routine again. Cathe step workouts here I come, lol. I just do not want to gain 20 pounds over the holidays like I did last year so please keep me in track you all. Please? Please? Right now I timidly got on the scale and Oh no!! It up AGAIN!! Boy do I sound like a broken record. It currently shows 165. I swear again it is so easy to gain the weight in record time, but it seem it takes like forever to get it off.
In a bit I will be watching Kimora Lee Simmons’ Life in the Fab Lane. Do any of you watch that show? I am loving it. It is such a interesting show on her life and career as a mom and fashion mogul. She totally rocks and inspires me in so many ways. If anyone does watch it, what do you think of the show so far? I would love to know. Well, I am off for now.

Hi everyone!! In leu of my previous post I came across an interesting article regarding weight loss supplements for women. I hope this may help some of you that may have concerns or questions on this topic. Enjoy!!
These days, people, especially women, are becoming more conscious about their weight. Thin is the new trend. Just look at different fashion magazines and celebrity photos. Everyone seems to be sporting slender bodies. It’s a sad fact that the main measure of a woman’s attractiveness isn’t her brain or personality, but her waistline. This is probably the reason for the growing proliferation of weight loss supplements for women.
In the United States, 36% of women are obese. There is a considerable market size for diet pills. A lot of companies now offer weight loss supplements designed specifically for women. There are just too many choices, each one promising favorable results in a matter of weeks. While a perfect body can boost your confidence, it is important to make sure that your weight loss supplements wouldn’t harm your body in any way. So before making your selection as to which diet supplement to take, you need to be properly informed about what’s in them first.
Natural does not equal healthy
One of the new trends in women’s weight loss supplements include the use of herbal diet pills. For most consumers, they think that when a product is made of herbs and other all-natural substances, it’s considered safe.
But this is not really the case. While herbal supplements contain all-natural ingredients, that doesn’t necessarily mean that they cannot be detrimental to your health. Some of these supplements may prove to be effective because they contain ephedrine. Unfortunately, studies prove that ephedrine can cause an increase in heart rate which can lead to a dozen other cardiovascular disorders.
Some herbal weight loss supplements for women also contain laxatives which are highly addictive. If you continue to take these stuff over extended periods of time, you may end up getting hooked to the substance and your body may not be able to function properly without it.
Caffeine and weight loss
Some weight loss supplements for women are also known to contain caffeine, which is believed to curb the appetite. As a stimulant, it aids in increasing one’s energy levels and tolerance for exercise pain. The only downside is caffeine can also increase the heart rate and constrict your blood vessels which is why people with high blood pressure are strongly advised against drinking coffee. If you’re thinking of using a diet supplement that contains caffeine, make sure to cut out on caffeinated drinks like coffee and sodas because there are weight loss products that contain an equivalent of 30 cans of coke. That’s more than enough caffeine-intake to last you a lifetime.
Calcium is not just for the bones
Recent studies have proven that calcium can also aid in weight loss. There are weight loss supplements for women that contain this mineral in considerable amounts because of its fat-burning capabilities. According to research, a low-calcium diet can lead to weight gain because the mineral helps in maintaining your body weight by burning excess fat. While it’s safe for you to take calcium supplements as a way to lose weight, it’s probably much better if you just go all-natural and add calcium in your daily meal. Drinking milk isn’t fattening. In fact, studies show that milk can even aid in weight loss because it contains substances that creates a feeling that you have a full stomach thereby suppressing your urge to eat more.
Bottom line is…
Before taking any dietary supplement, it’s always best to consult your physician to make sure that you’re not taking anything that could be harmful to your health. Always check the labels on over-the-counter diet pills to find out what’s in them. Ephedra, for instance, has been banned by the FDA as a fat-burning substance because of its known connection to increased heart rate and blood vessel constriction. If you’re not entirely sure about what’s in the diet pills available in your local drugstore, better not buy them in the first place.
Another thing that you must remember is that taking dietary supplements is not the only way to lose weight. There are much safer methods out there that are more effective in getting you to the perfect body you’ve always wanted. At the end of the day, a healthy and balanced diet and proper exercise is the best way to shed off those calories. Supplements cannot help you maintain your desired weight forever but a healthy lifestyle can.
