Poll I had the other day about the dessert you would eat in unlimited amounts if it would not affect your weight.

33% Would gourge in Yummy Chocolate chip cookies

27% Would indulge in Cheesecake & Sheetcake with Buttercream frosting

13% Would enjoy Apple Pie

Wouldn’t that be awesome if that was true? Oh well, back to reality. Enjoy if you must but remember to eat in moderation, drink lots of water, and exercise to keep the weight under controll.

Thank you to all who participated :)

P.S. Please help me with my previous post. Mother’s Day is around the corner. lol

Hi all,

I hope that you all are enjoying your weekend so far. I am trying to, but a little bored today. Maybe something will jog my mind or inspire me to do something new or different. Anyways, a few weeks ago I decided that I was going to make my own valances to decorate my diningroom. Mind you I haven’t sewn for over 4 years. BC (Before Child) of course. But I miss it so much. I have sewn all my life from a chid growing up through college when I was studying apparel design. That’s right I have a BA in apparel design.

I decided to do this after visiting my local hancock store and saw some beautiful home decor fabrics. So, I bought my pattern and began sewing. It was so relaxing to just sew? Can anyone of you relate to that? Well, do you think I did and okay job? Let me know you won’t hurt my feelings.

My sewing project.

All in all it was sooooo much fun and now I am thinking of making some for our guest room. And, maybe, just maybe, I might make a matching duvet too. lol

Have a great day :)

We do believe in setting goals. We live by goals. In athletics we always have a goal. When we go to school, we have the goal of graduation and degrees. Our total existence is goal-oriented.
We must have goals to make progress, encouraged by keeping records . . . as the swimmer or the jumper or the runner does . . .
Progress is easier when it is timed, checked, and measured. . . .
Goals are good. Laboring with a distant aim sets the mind in a higher key and puts us at our best.
Goals should always be made to a point that will make us reach and strain.

Why? Our body needs a lot of water so give in to it. Water is not just way to flush out toxins but if you have more water in your body you will generally feel healthier and fitter. This it self will discourage any tendency to gorge. The best thing about water is that is has no calories at all.

First, start your day with a glass of water. As soon as you wake up, gulp down a glass of cool water. It’s a wonderful way to start your day and you only need a lesser quantity of your breakfast after that. A glass of water lets out all your digestive juices and sort of lubricates the insides of your body. You may have your morning cup of tea but have it after a glass of water. It is good for you.

Secondly, drink a glass of water before you start the meal. Water naturally needs some space so that you feel fuller without actually having to stuff yourself.

Then last but not least, have another glass of water while you are having the meal. Again this is another way of making yourself full so that you can actually rise from the table eating less but feeling full just the same. Instead of drinking it one gulp, take sips after each morsel. It will help the food to settle faster so that you get that feeling that you are full faster.

With everything I mentioned above and drinking at least eight 8oz glasses of water a day has help aid in my weight loss. And if you don’t like plain water get creative by adding a splash of lemon, lime, or orange juice to give it some flavor. If that doesn’t do it for you Crystal light makes low calorie on the go mixes that you can add to your water. So, with all of that said, cheers!!!

Hi All,

What a fast weekend!! Friday came, Saturday went, and now it is Sunday and I am not ready for Monday when DH goes back to work and it is just me and Arman. Any stay at home moms out there that can relate? I swear after my child turned 3 (the terrifying threes I now call it) it has been a battle of questioning my authority. Some days are great and the others I just want to put him in preschool and go back to work with grown ups. We are involved with playgroups and other activities, but when we are home OMG some days I could SCREAM. People say 2’s are bad, but not my boy. When he was 2 he was an angel….. Just venting. Overall, I love my child and I thank God everyday that I can stay home with him and watch him grow up into Mr. Independent.

This week was great through I can’t complain. On Saturday, DH, Arman and I went to Home Depot and purchased Landscaping Supplies for our front yard. You name it we brought it.. From flowers, shrubs, sod, soil, mulch, and etc. I swear DH and I was in and out of Home Depot 5 times on Saturday. Isn’t that crazy???? We were the so much that day I became very good friend with two sales clerks. They told me that if they see me again that day I will be banned fromt he garden section of the store joking of course. They were so nice they even gave me a 10% discount of my purchase. I guess being nice goes a long way huh?

Then we got home from home depot and worked in the yard for almost 4 hours. I guess that counts as exercise? Because today I am soooooo sore from that and doing 25 minutes of step aerobics too!! lol.

What do you think? Did we do okay? Believe me we are mot landscaping professionals, but I think we did a GREAT job and Arman loves “his” flower garden. He can’t wait until the next time to water the flowers again.
Well, on another note. Health and fitness. Well you all know that I have been trying to get back to my goal weight since after the holidays and guess what? I am getting so close. After the new year my scale peaked at 175 and now I am done to 168!!! How cool is that? I have been doing the following for exercise routine and it seems to work out for me:
  • 3 days a weeks I do Cardio Step DVD’s
  • 1 day Tae Bo
  • 1 day Cardio dance
  • 2 days weight/ muscle toning

It seems doing this mix of workouts help me lose weight and tone my body very well. At least I think it is. I really want to wear a bikini this summer. Last summer I waited to the last minute to buy one and never got a chance to wear it. Go figure.

As far as the healthy eating my meal plan consist of the following today:

breakfast:

  1. 2 poached eggs
  2. 2 slices of canadian bacon by Oscare Myer (only 40 cals)
  3. 1 serving size of fruit

Lunch:

  1. Tuna Salad in a bed of mix salad greens
  2. protein or dairy serving (today yogurt by dannon)

Dinner:

  1. 1/2grecian chicken wrap (200 cals)
  2. Salad
  3. 1 serving a carrots

 Dessert:

  1. 2 chocolate chip cookies (300 cals)

I had to treat myself today. Since I worked so hard this past week. So now this week I am going to work just as hard and try to lose 2 more pounds. Wish me luck!! I need it.

So How did you do today? Any of you out there have any yummy lunch recipes? I sure would love to hear about them. Sometime I get bored of my stuff and would take any yummy suggestions.

Well, I am off to do some research. I will let you know more about it later. Until then have a great week.

Did you all enjoy the Easter holiday with your loved ones? I know I did. I had a wonderful time watching my little one hunt for eggs, play with his friends and family, and I thought to myself this is the good life…. seeing the joy of life through your own child’s eyes.
I hope that you all are having a great day today. It is raining here in Texas and I am enjoying the day catching up on housework, bookkeeping, and soon myself. My little one is at grandpa house having a great time and is not ready to come home yet. So I am going to get ready to workout to my new favorite DVD by Cathe Friedrich called, Cardio Fusion. It is so much FUN!!!! It’s a step workout with different drills to enjoy. What are you going to be treating yourself to today? Maybe exercise, pampering yourself with a pedicure or something. I would love to know!!
Well I will chat later..
lol,

Hey all,

I am just reflecting back on my pre-easter activities. Well I have a funny story.. Well at least now it is funny. Okay, Thursday night before Easter Sunday I decided hummmm….summer is almost here and I think I want to lighten my hair. Right? So at the least minute, which I would never reccommend anyone to do, I went to Sally’s beauty supply to find this right color to get my hair a light Almond Auburn color. Kind of like Tyra banks hair color?? So the lady gave me a color that I thought would get my hair there?? HA HA!! So silly me got home and colored the hair. Okay not the right color it is still kind of dark.

So, at 10:30 at night I ran to Walgreens out of all places with a cap on my head. (little embraced of the color which ended up a lighter brown and red okay) I found a color by loreal that I thought should do the trick. Again I got home excited and caution!!! You should never dye your hair twice in one day. Not good for relaxed hair like mine. Now I am dying my hair a second time around and mind my scalp is BURNING!!! Later I went to the sink and wished out the color and now my hair is RED!! GRRRRRRRRRRRRRR. So after frustation I just dried my hair out and put it in a ponytail for the evening and went to bed and this is a 1:00AM Friday.

Then Friday gets here and I am dying to correct my color so I go back to sallys and asked the clerk how can I get my hair lighter? She suggests dark and lovely’s honey blonde color. So I purchased it and went home to dye my hair for the 3rd time. This time I freaked out!!!!! I rinsed the color out and my hair was blonde, yellow and fire orange!! I could have screamed. My hair literally liked like my 3 year old son’s easter egg dying project. I wish I had a pic of it, but I would have been too embrassed to show the world my dying mistake. Thank God hubby was home. I told hubby watch our child I will be back. At this time I had my hat on and he asked why?? I took off my hat and told him should I wear this color for easter sunday??? His eyes were so big he said GOOOOO!!! What happend?? I said don’t even asked.

So…. I went to CVS this time. I could not face the clerk at sallys again. Too embarassed. I found a color on my own by granier fruitise and came home quickly to dye my hair for the 4th time in a 24 hour period. This time I was praying to God. First, to not let my hair fall out and second to let the color turn out this time PLEASE!! By this time my scalp was done. And finally, I got the color in and rinsed and dry and EUREKA!!! IT WORKED!!!

PHEW!!!! So I am saying this… Don’t even do this to yourself. Plan ahead and consult with someone that knows hair coloring. Thank goodness my hair did not fall out or fry. lol

Anyways, what do you think? See the pics below for before and afters. I would love to know your opinion.

I didn’t think that I was going to make through the day today. Well first of early, early this morning at 2:00am a thunderstorm came through here in Texas and woke up my little Arman (my 3 year-old son) and had him so scared he was shaking. So, I decided to hope in his bed until he feel asleep. He look so sweet sleep, but on the otherside I wanted to go back to my own bed and sleep comfortably. Come on, sharing a twin bed with a 3 year-old that sleeps wild??? OMG!! I was in there for 2 hours and my back was killing me. So lets say it is now 4:00am and finaly got back to bed and the rain was gone and then 45 minutes later another storm come through and guess who is scared again? You guessed it, Arman. So being the loving mom that I am I stay in his room until the storm was gone and he was out sleeping. At last I was back in my bed sleeping until 7:30 and guess who woke and bit eyed and ready to play? That’s right Arman.

I had to get dress and get the day going with errands to do breakfast, playtime, the bank, grocery store, and etc. Did I meantime today was my third day on NS body Boost and man I am so glad that I made it through it!!! The body boost is a high protein diet w/ almost no carbs to help break plateaus and it actually helped break mine. So far I lost 2 pounds and I will check tomorrow if I lost more. I will keep you posted. Anyways by noon time I was so tired almost drunk tired. hee hee. But I manage to make it to naptime for Arman and he took a nap and slept for 2 hours. YAHOOOO!!! A mom’s dream. So I helped DH with some office work, cleaned, and prepared dinner. After dinner DH played with Arman will I did Kelly Robert’s Step it Stog step aerobics DVD for 30 mins and I did 15 mins our ab training. Even Arman decided that he what to exercise too! He got on the balance ball I was doing my ab workout. It was fun.

All I can say is that I made it, Wednesday is done!! Now I am ready to hit the bed and gesome zzzzzz’s. I hope you all had a great day and are getting ready to rest and prepare for the weekend.

Night, Night

Natasha
